With musical parents,  Cory’s exposure to live music came at a young age , he started playing a full drum set at 10 and didn't stop exploring other instruments or ways of learning more about the craft throughout school . From concert and jazz band on the drums and alto sax , to multiple choir credits he built his love for the musical arts. Playing live on stage at the age of 19 he cut his teeth playing country rock  for his parents  in Bandit .  joining one of the most successful rock bands in the area 11th hour , at 21, he continued to learn new instruments including guitar, bass and piano. Playing mostly classic and 90s era rock with several more rock bands thru the 90s which took him across the US playing clubs, casinos and bars . This is where he found his voice becoming an experienced lead singer and solid bass player . Inspired by the new country of the early 2000’s he helped form Lark Drive and switched to guitar with his 11th hour band mate Kevin and the two had a very successful run as the Premier New Country band in the walla walla area with tight three part harmonies and musicianship to match it . Cory then  left Lark Drive to form another country variety 3 piece power trio  Money for Nothin , Cory, Rand , and Ben thrived in the tri cities music scene and kept up with all the 4 and 5 piece bands of the day . Starting another new country band with his former band mate Kevin Backroads burst onto the scene , boasting 4 part harmonies and world class musicians the band was an instant hit and they pushed it hard for a few years playing big shows across the area . after a two year break Cory joined several more acts for short stints and played occasional with his parents for the next year , now hes back on the drums and the driving force behind two of the areas most popular and successful bands in the area !!!

Nicole Edwards

Ms.Stompin'Ground 2020

Nicole was born and raised in Kennewick, WA where she grew up on her family's 5,000 acre wheat farm. Being a farmer's daughter, she grew up listening to country music from a young age, helping her dad out around the farm when she could, and riding 4-wheelers down the country backroads with her friends. She attended Southridge High School and graduated in 2015 as Valedictorian and Female Scholar Athlete of the Year. She then moved to Portland, OR to attend the University of Portland where she graduated as Valedictorian of the Class of 2019 and as University Scholar for the Pamplin School of Business. Every summer during her college career, she moved back to the Tri-Cities and drove combine for her dad during wheat harvest. She has been swing dancing continuously for 9 years and after turning 21, started exploring new places to swing dance with friends, citing some of her favorite places to dance as The Branding Iron and the Benton Franklin Fair and Rodeo. During one of her breaks at home from college, she first heard Stompin' Ground play and fell in love with their high-energy level, passion for country music, and the effortless way they always get the crowd out on the dance floor. Stompin' Ground is by far Nicole's favorite local band and she loves singing along to the music while dancing the night away. Nicole is so excited for the opportunity to rep the band as Ms. Stompin' Ground for 2020 and for all the new adventures to come!
